Prepare + Aftercare

Waxing + Tinting

PREPARING FOR YOUR WAX:

Be sure to STOP using any oral or topical treatments known to cause skin sensitivity AT LEAST 3 (preferably 5) days prior to your waxing appointment. Anti aging or acne products, acids, + retinoids are known to cause lifting of the skin.

PREPARING FOR YOUR TINT:

NO FAUX TANNING.. not only do you risk a reaction between the two color formulas but the wax will leave a line of demarcation causing uneven skin tones post service.

POST WAXING CARE FOR YOUR SKIN:

Keep it clean, keep it simple. Try to avoid excessive touching and sweating post wax. If you have sensitive skin, we recommend washing your face after your wax but avoid the waxed area with other topicals for the remainder of the day! Still getting baby bumps or breakouts? Tell your Arch Expert next time you’re in and we’ll start the process of elimination in our routine to try and find the cause of irritation.

POST TINTING CARE FOR LONGEVITY:

The tint will stain the skin for 1 to 3 days and remain on the brow hairs for 3 to 6 weeks.

Avoid faux tanning for at least 24 hours.

The longevity of your tint can be compromised by swimming, sweating, sun exposure, excessive washing, and contact with oil based products.

Try to avoid any topicals (skincare + makeup) other than growth serums on the tinted area until your color starts to fade.

Think your color is too dark? Do the exact opposite of our aftercare instructions to promote faster fading!

Lash Lifts

PREPARATION:

AVOID DAY OF CAFFEINE.. fluttery eyes can cause movement and ultimately lead to watery eyes/ tearing which will cause the solutions to deactivate resulting in less dramatic results, if any at all.

POST SERVICE CARE:

Avoid moisture of any kind for the first 24 hours (48 if possible)— do not get the lashes wet. This includes washing, swimming, sweating, and steam such as saunas.

Avoid excessive rubbing and side sleeping.

Brush lashes daily and as needed— roll your mascara wand on top of the lashes instead of the way you would normally apply your mascara.

Apply moisturizing oil to the lashes as needed after 24 hours—too much oil could jeopardize the longevity of your lift however not enough could cause your lashes to become brittle and break. Start out with an every other day application and see how your lashes respond.

Lamination

PREPARATION:

NO FAUX TANNING.. not only do you risk a reaction between the formulas but the wax will leave a line of demarcation causing uneven skin tones post service.

If you have sensitive skin or want the least amount of irritation, we highly recommend stopping use of any skin thinning topical treatments 5 days prior to your service due to the excessive brushing this service requires, ESPECIALLY if you’re getting waxed as well.

POST SERVICE CARE:

Do not get the brows wet for 48 hours. Avoid moisture of any kind— this includes washing, swimming, sweating, and steam such as saunas.

If the brow hairs fall out of place, feel free to brush with a spoolie/mascara wand. Apply your take home product (moisturizing oil) to the brows after 48 hours—use the oil to set them daily post shower prior to the hairs drying.. this is called ‘wet setting’.

Every time the brows have contact with moisture, you will have to reset them in your desired direction by brushing them into place with a mascara wand.

Be sure to keep them hydrated otherwise your brow hairs will become brittle causing loss of hairs or breakage. Over hydrating the brow hairs may cause the lamination to have less longevity but we’d much rather that than the alternative!

PLEASE NOTE: This service can create a fuller looking brow meaning the width of the brow because it softens, straightens, and stretches the hair HOWEVER it can also accentuate patchiness throughout the brow if there is not hair to direct over the sparse areas.
